Ingredients
- 500 gm sugar
- ⅓ cup mixed nuts
- 2 tbsp melon seeds
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 100 gm ghee
- Orange food colour
- 250 gm corn flour
- ½ tsp cardamom powder

Preparations

- Bring a pan to heat and add 500 gm sugar to it.
- To dissolve the sugar, pour in water, ensuring it's ⅓ the amount of sugar, and let it do so, on a medium-high flame.
- In a mixing bowl, add ¾ cup of cornflour.
- To make a slurry, add water that is 1½ cup more than the amount of cornflour.
- Mix well to eliminate any lumps.
Bringing it all together

- Add this slurry to the dissolved sugar in the pan while stirring simultaneously.
- Slightly increase the flame and let it cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Lower the flame once the mixture starts to thicken.
- Add the food colour and lemon juice.
- Gradually add ghee, starting with 1 big tsp and stir.
- Add the melon seeds and the mixed dry fruits.
- Stir and allow it to cook, until it turns transparent and is easy to fold.
Final Steps

- Turn off the gas and transfer it to a mould of your choice, layered with butter paper or greased with ghee.
- Garnish with melon seeds and dry fruits, pressing them slightly into the mixture.
- Set aside to cool at room temperature for at least 3–4 hours.
- Cut, serve and enjoy!
