Ingredients

  • 140 gm butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup refined flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • Pineapples
  • Glazed cherries

How to make :

Pineapple Upside Down Cake Recipe

  1. Add softened butter to a mixing bowl along with ½ cup granulated sugar.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together and add 1 tsp vanilla essence.
  3. Add ½ cup of milk to the mixture.
  4. Add 1 cup of refined flour along with ½ tsp each of baking powder and baking soda.
  5.  Whisk everything together.
  6. Add ¼ cup each of butter and brown sugar to another bowl and mix it together using a spatula.
  7. Take a tin and grease it with the prepared butter and brown sugar mixture.
  8. Decorate the bottom of the tin with 3–4 pineapple slices along with a handful of glazed cherries.
  9. Pour the prepared cake batter into the tin evenly.
  10. Pop the upside-down cake into a preheated oven and bake at 180°C for 35–40 min.

Special Tip

You can add in some pineapple juice in the batter for that extra tropical feel!
